John 5:42

Jesus diagnoses the root problem: not lack of knowledge, not lack of Scriptures, but lack of love for God. All their religious activity was hollow because there was no genuine love for God at the centre.

Memory phrase: They had no love for God inside them.

Talk about it: How is it possible to do lots of religious things without actually loving God? What does loving God actually look like?

Prayer: God, fill my heart with true love for You — not just religious activity, but real love.
