Proverbs 31:8

This is one of Scripture's clearest calls to advocacy. 'The dumb' means those who cannot speak — whether literally or because they have no power or voice in society. The 'appointed to destruction' are those facing unjust death or ruin. Godly people use their voice to protect the defenceless.
