Proverbs 28:27

Proverbs 28:27

This is one of Scripture's clearest promises about generosity: give to the poor and you will not lack. God is the guarantor of this promise — He replenishes what is given in His name. The contrast is equally sharp: hiding your eyes from the poor (deliberately ignoring their need) brings not just failure to bless, but active curse. Generosity is not optional for the God-fearing person.

Memory phrase: Give freely. Never lack.

Talk about it: What does God promise to those who give to people who are poor?

Prayer: God, make me generous to those who are in need.
