John 5:7

The man answers with his problem, not his hope. He is not even asking Jesus for healing — he is explaining why healing has been impossible. He has no helper, no advocate, no friend. His answer reveals deep loneliness alongside his illness.

Memory phrase: I have no one to help me.

Talk about it: The man explained why he couldn't get better instead of asking Jesus for help. Do we sometimes explain our problems instead of asking God for help?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You that You are the helper for people who have no one. You are my helper.
