The third wicked generation is characterised by pride — specifically the pride of contempt. 'Lofty eyes' and 'lifted eyelids' are ancient images of disdain, looking down at others as beneath oneself. God consistently opposes this posture (Proverbs 6:17; Isaiah 2:11–12). Pride that demeans others is not merely arrogance — it is a declaration of war against the order God has established.
Memory phrase: Pride brings you down.
Talk about it: What does it look like when someone acts like they are better than everyone?
Prayer: God, keep my heart humble and my eyes kind.
