Proverbs 28:21

Proverbs 28:21

Partiality in judgment — treating people differently based on who they are rather than what is right — is condemned here. The striking addition is the 'piece of bread': even the smallest incentive can lead a person who practises favouritism to transgress. Partiality corrupts justice at every level and for the smallest price.

Memory phrase: Be fair to everyone always.

Talk about it: What does it mean to show favouritism? Why is that unfair and wrong?

Prayer: God, help me treat everyone fairly, not just my favourites.
