Proverbs 28:6

This verse is a direct challenge to the assumption that wealth equals blessing and poverty equals curse. God evaluates by moral integrity, not material wealth. The poor person of upright character stands in a more honourable place before God than the rich person living perversely — regardless of how each appears to the world.
