Proverbs 27:13

This proverb echoes Proverbs 20:16 — the financial wisdom of requiring collateral when someone has made a reckless guarantee for an unknown person. Co-signing for a stranger is imprudent; the person who does so has taken a serious risk. The text is a practical warning about financial entanglement with the untrustworthy. Wisdom in money matters is part of godly stewardship.
