Proverbs 26:12

Pride is more dangerous than foolishness because it closes the door to correction. A fool might be corrected; a person who is 'wise in their own conceit' will not accept correction at all. Self-righteousness and arrogance make a person unteachable — and that is the most spiritually perilous state.
