Proverbs 23:22

Proverbs 23:22

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

This verse gives a direct command: listen to your father and do not despise your mother in old age. The connection between who begat you and who you should listen to is direct — parents are owed honour across every season of life, including when they are aged and perhaps less impressive to the world.

Memory phrase: Honour your father and mother.

Talk about it: What is one way you can show your parents that you really listen to them?

Prayer: God, help me truly listen to and honour my parents.
