Proverbs 22:7

This proverb is an honest observation about power and debt. Wealth confers power in this world. And debt creates a form of bondage — the borrower's choices become constrained by obligation to the lender. This is not a command but a warning: debt has real consequences on your freedom. Wisdom teaches us to live within our means.
