Proverbs 19:14

Material inheritance — house and riches — can be passed from father to child through human effort and planning. But a wise and discerning spouse is in a different category altogether: it is a gift from the LORD. No amount of human effort or matchmaking produces this; it is a grace. This proverb elevates marriage far above a transaction and places it firmly in the realm of divine providence.

Memory phrase: A good partner is God's gift.

Talk about it: Why is a wise and good person in your family a gift from God?

Prayer: God, thank You for the good gifts You give to families.
