Proverbs 19:13

Proverbs 19:13

Solomon speaks to two household trials that wear a person down. A foolish son is a calamity — not an inconvenience but a disaster that follows the father. Contentious arguing in the home is compared to a dripping roof: not one sudden flood but the relentless, exhausting drip that makes a house unliveable. Harmony in the home is a gift to everyone who lives there.

Memory phrase: Peace makes a home.

Talk about it: How does constant arguing make a home feel?

Prayer: God, help me bring peace, not arguing, into my home.
