Proverbs 18:8

Proverbs 18:8

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

A 'talebearer' is someone who carries and spreads secrets and harmful words about others — a gossip. The comparison to wounds and 'innermost parts' describes how deeply such words penetrate: they do not merely sting on the surface but lodge deep in the heart and memory. Gossip causes lasting inner damage that is easily underestimated.

Memory phrase: Gossip wounds people deeply.

Talk about it: Why does gossip hurt even when no one hears it?

Prayer: God, help me never hurt others with my words.
