Proverbs 16:19

Proverbs 16:19

The company of the humble — even if materially poor — is better than the gains of the proud. This is a direct counter-cultural statement: social climbing toward the proud and powerful is not wisdom. The humble places are often where God's blessing and genuine community are found.

Memory phrase: Humble is better than proud.

Talk about it: Why would being with humble people be better than sharing a prize with proud people?

Prayer: God, help me choose humble company.
