Proverbs 16:18

One of the most quoted lines in all of Scripture. Pride — the refusal to acknowledge dependence on God and others — is not just morally wrong; it is practically self-destructive. It creates blindness to real dangers and resistance to correction, setting up a fall that the proud person never sees coming.
