Proverbs 16:6

Sin is cleansed through a combination of divine mercy (God's loyal love) and truth (honest acknowledgment of wrongdoing). And the ongoing power to walk away from evil is the fear of the LORD — a deep reverence and holy awe that makes sin look foolish and costly. Both forgiveness and ongoing obedience are rooted in who God is.
