Proverbs 13:9

Proverbs 13:9

Light and lamp are images of life, vitality, and hope. The righteous person's light rejoices — it is alive, burning brightly, full of energy. The wicked person's lamp, though perhaps burning for a season, will ultimately be extinguished. The contrast is between a joyful, enduring light and one that will eventually go dark.

Memory phrase: Righteous light rejoices always.

Talk about it: What does it mean for someone's life to shine like a light?

Prayer: God, let Your light shine through my life.
