John 4:9

She knew the rules — Jews and Samaritans did not mix. Jesus had already broken them. Her surprise shows how unexpected His kindness was.

Memory phrase: Jesus broke barriers with kindness.

Talk about it: Jesus crossed two big barriers here — he was Jewish and she was Samaritan, and he was a man talking to a woman alone. Why do you think He did not let those rules stop Him?
