John 1:26

John's water baptism was preparation. Jesus — the one they could not see — was already present among them. The Messiah was in their midst unrecognised.

Memory phrase: Someone stands among you whom you do not know.

Talk about it: Jesus was right there among the people and they did not know it! How can we become better at noticing where Jesus is at work around us?

Prayer: Jesus, help me recognise Your presence with me today. You are always near, even when I do not notice.
