Proverbs 29:23

Pride and humility have opposite trajectories. The proud person is on a downward path — God opposes the proud (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5). The humble person is upheld — sustained, honoured, and lifted. This is not just a social observation but a theological statement about how God relates to human hearts.
