Proverbs 28:17

Proverbs 28:17

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

This verse speaks to the severity of bloodshed — the taking of a human life. The one who commits this violence will themselves rush toward the pit (destruction, death). The second clause — 'let no man stay him' — is a warning against interfering with God's justice. The consequence is certain, and attempting to prevent it is itself unwise.

Memory phrase: Violence brings its own end.

Talk about it: Why is hurting or killing someone always serious in God's eyes?

Prayer: God, keep me and all I love far from violence.
