Proverbs 27:7

This proverb observes a truth about human perception: our need shapes our experience. The full person can afford to be picky; the hungry person has no such luxury. Spiritually, this is a picture of why the self-sufficient refuse the Gospel while the desperate receive it gladly. Recognising our spiritual hunger is the beginning of wisdom.
