Proverbs 25:14

Proverbs 25:14

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

Clouds and wind naturally promise rain — but when they produce nothing, the disappointment is acute, especially in an agricultural society depending on rain. The person who boasts of giving what they never give produces the same bitter disappointment in those who trusted them.

Memory phrase: Keep your promises. Do not boast.

Talk about it: Have you ever been promised something that never came? How did it feel?

Prayer: God, help me only promise what I will truly give.
