Proverbs 23:7

This verse contains one of the great wisdom truths: the heart reveals the true person. Outward words of welcome can mask an inward reluctance or resentment. The 'eat and drink' invitation is hollow because the host's heart is not in it. What we think in our hearts shapes who we are.
