Proverbs 23:7

Proverbs 23:7

This verse contains one of the great wisdom truths: the heart reveals the true person. Outward words of welcome can mask an inward reluctance or resentment. The 'eat and drink' invitation is hollow because the host's heart is not in it. What we think in our hearts shapes who we are.

Memory phrase: Your heart is who you are.

Talk about it: Why does what we think in our hearts matter more than what we say with our mouths?

Prayer: God, keep my heart honest and truly kind.
