Proverbs 22:28

Landmark stones marked property boundaries in ancient Israel. Moving them was effectively stealing — taking land by stealth rather than force. The command preserves not only property rights but also the legacy of previous generations. In a broader sense, this proverb warns against tearing down the established, inherited wisdom and boundaries set by those who came before, simply for personal gain.
