Proverbs 21:16

This is one of Proverbs' most solemn warnings: abandoning the way of wisdom leads to death — spiritual and ultimately physical. The 'congregation of the dead' is a vivid description of those who have permanently departed from the living path. Departing from wisdom is not a neutral drift — it has a deadly destination.
