Proverbs 19:27

Proverbs 19:27

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

A startling verse: Solomon tells his son to stop listening — but specifically to stop listening to instruction that leads away from knowledge. Not all teaching is trustworthy. The child must develop discernment: able to recognise voices that sound wise but lead away from God's word. This is a call to guard what enters the ear and the heart.

Memory phrase: Guard what you hear.

Talk about it: How can you tell if teaching is leading you toward or away from God?

Prayer: God, help me only listen to what leads me closer to You.
