Proverbs 17:19

Proverbs 17:19

Loving strife and loving sin are deeply connected — conflict is not just a personality trait but a spiritual condition revealing a heart that is at war with others and with God. The second half refers to building an excessively high or grand entrance — a symbol of pride and ostentatious display — which is a path toward ruin. Both strife-seeking and pride are self-destructive.

Memory phrase: Pride leads to ruin.

Talk about it: Why do people who love to fight love to do wrong?

Prayer: God, keep me from pride and fighting.
