Proverbs 17:2

Proverbs 17:2

In the ancient world, inheritance was reserved for biological sons. This proverb radically overturns that assumption: a servant who acts wisely will be trusted with authority even over the master's own son who brings shame. Character and wisdom outweigh birth position. God also rewards faithfulness regardless of one's starting place in life.

Memory phrase: Wisdom earns respect.

Talk about it: Why does wisdom matter more than who you are born to?

Prayer: God, help me be wise and faithful always.
