Proverbs 16:28

Two related figures: the contentious person who seeds conflict openly, and the whisperer who does it covertly. Both destroy relationships. The whisperer is particularly dangerous because their damage is subtle — close friends separated by quiet words spoken behind backs.

Memory phrase: Gossip destroys true friends.

Talk about it: How can whispering or gossiping break apart good friendships?

Prayer: God, keep me from gossip and strife.
