John 5:33

Jesus calls His first human witness: John the Baptist. The leaders themselves had sent a delegation to John, and John had clearly testified that Jesus was the Lamb of God. They had the testimony — they chose not to accept it.

Memory phrase: John the Baptist testified about Jesus.

Talk about it: The leaders had already heard John the Baptist speak about Jesus. Why might they have chosen to ignore what John said?

Prayer: Lord, help me to be like John — someone who points people to Jesus honestly and boldly.
