John 5:27

'Son of Man' is Jesus' favourite way to refer to Himself — it is the title from Daniel 7 for the divine figure who comes to receive all dominion and glory. Jesus is qualified to judge humanity because He became human — He understands from the inside.

Memory phrase: Jesus has authority to judge.

Talk about it: Why might it matter that the one who judges us has also been a human being? How does that make Jesus different from a distant judge?

Prayer: Jesus, You became human to understand me. Thank You for being a judge who truly knows what it is like to be me.
