An unexpected turn. Jesus was not being unkind — He was leading her toward honesty. True transformation requires truth. He needed to address what was real in her life.

Memory phrase: Jesus asks us to be honest before He transforms us.

Talk about it: Why do you think Jesus suddenly asked about her husband instead of just giving her the water?

Prayer: Jesus, help me to be honest with You about my real life — not just the easy parts.
