The narrative, which had been interrupted by this parenthesis relating to John the Baptist, is now taken up again. The apostles. This is the only place where St. Mark calls them apostles. In the parallel passage, St.

Luke (Luke 9:10) says that they told him all that they had done. St. Mark adds, with more detail, and whatsoever ( ὅσα) they had taught. They gave him a full account of their mission.
