From all your uncleannesses. The same word as in , though with difference in meaning. From their uncleanness of the past they have already been saved (); the present promise guarantees preservation against future lapsing into uncleanness, i.

e. the filthiness of idol-service. "With this," writes Plumptre, "the necessity for temporal chastisements as a corrective discipline should cease, and there would be nothing to check the full outpouring of all material as well as spiritual blessings."
