And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job. Beauty has always been highly valued in the East; and Job would feel himself highly favoured in having three beautiful daughters.

It may have been on account of their great beauty that their father gave them inheritance among their brethren, which was certainly an unusual practice in the East.
