And now my soul is poured out upon me (comp. Psalms 42:4). My very soul seems to be gone out of me. "I faint and swoon away, because of my fears" (Lee). The days of affliction have taken hold upon me.

All my prosperity is gone, and I am come to "the days of affliction." These "take hold on me," and, as it were, possess me.
